Battle of the Macros

Finally got some time to do a comparison between my e420 with 35mm f/3.5 maco and the E-M5 12-50mm in macro mode (46mm f/6), the 35mm has a 1:1 scale and has an very close focusing distance, however it tends to hunt for focus a lot of the time and the dof is pretty extreme. For the battle I tried to keep the same angle and distance with both cameras, all shots are hand held which gives the advantage to the E-M5 already  with it's image stabilisation. Where I could I used fences, swings, bricks to help stable myself for the shot.

In each battle the e420 with 35mm f/3.5 is first then the E-M5 with 12-50mm in macro mode (46mm f/6), images from e420 were shot in RAW then resized and saved as Jpg, E-M5 were shot in Jpg Large Fine and resized, no other post work has been done on either, they are how the camera (both with the same settings in Aperture Priority) took them.

Max ISO for the e420 is set at 200, anything over this starts getting extremely noisy, max ISO for E-M5 is 1600, both cameras are auto setting the ISO. 100-200 for the e420, 200-1600 for the E-M5
